indoor training

In the U8-U10 age groups players play together in their teams for the fall season, and then participate in January tryouts for placement on teams for the spring and summer. Through the indoor months, players in these age groups can choose opt-in training with the other players from their birthyear.

We do this for a few reasons; to allow for new players to join the age groups before the spring/summer season, to allow players to participate in multiple sports and activities throughout the year, and to build cohesion within the age groups with a view towards future years where rosters will be combined into bigger groups for 9v9 and 11v11 levels.

Age Group Training is comprised of 15 weekly soccer sessions with other players within their age group/birth year. Training sessions are similar to what a team practice would look like, running in a play-practice-play style methodology. Both technical and tactical skills are addressed during these sessions.

What is Futsal?

Futsal is an indoor soccer game played all over the world by everyone from amateur street players to professional and national team players competing in world tournaments, like the FIFA World Cup! The name "FUTSAL" comes from the Portuguese term, "futebol de salao", which can be translated as "hall football" or "indoor football". Unlike other forms of indoor soccer, the game is played on a hard court surface with lines for boundaries instead of walls or boards, and with a smaller ball that has less bounce than a regular soccer ball. The demanding surface, and the harder ball create a game that reinforces proper techniques, places an emphasis on improvisation, and rewards creativity. In addition to being a great tool for technical and tactical development, futsal is an extremely fast-paced and fun game that all players should have the chance to experience.
