Minnesota Thunder Coming to Edina ~~May 3rd~~

The Edina Soccer Association is hosting a great event coming Saturday, ~~May 3rd~~. The Minnesota Thunder soccer team will be playing an exhibition game against the Inferno 95 at the Braemar Soccer Field at 6:00PM. There is no cost for this fun event and you'll get to see some excellent soccer right here at home. After the game you're invited to stay and meet the players and maybe get an autograph or two. Please save Sunday, July 13th, late afternoon and evening on your calendar now. Join us for the 3rd Annual ESC Summer Soccer Celebration at Kuhlman Field and behind for games, food, soccer and fun! More details to follow!

2009 Tryouts

It's true. Please take note of these important tryout dates for the summer 2009 season.
Location(s) to be determined

All current ESC players and non-ESC players who wish to play in the Fall of 2008 or the Summer of 2009 are invited to tryout with the club. Players wishing to tryout must register in advance via ESC website. All age groups listed represent the age level the player will be in during the season of play for which he/she is trying out. (example: a Summer 2008 U11 player will be attending the U12 tryouts). Registration is planned to open June 16th.

Team Placement Decision Criteria
Players are placed on teams according to their tryout performance data (all players) and final coach evaluation information (current ESC players only). Tryout performance data is derived from a composite of skill tests and game situations for U9-U14 aged players. Players in the U15-U17 age groups are evaluated only on game situations at the scheduled tryouts. If a current ESC player does not attend tryouts that player placement decision will be made using only the coach evaluation data from the season just ended.

Summer Soccer Camps

It's time to start planning the summer schedule. Here are a couple great soccer camps available in June. These will be run by Phil Nell, Collette Montgomery and Simon Whitehead along with other top-notch coaches. These camps are a great way to help enhance soccer skills. Coaches' Spring (?) Kickoff Game

For the first time ever in ESC club history, a game played on a field covered with one food deep snow. On March 22nd, twelve very tough and passionate ESC Coaches participated in this historic game/event at the Edina High School turf field. Everybody who played under these very unique circumstances are in these photos except Wilfred, who had to leave early. After the game, the Coaches and some Board members met at the Scoreboard for the first Stammtisch in 2008. What a great and appropriate kickoff tot he 2008 soccer season.
